Choosing your security sensors/system

Use the information on this page to help you determine the best security system (sensors, leads, alarms) for your particular security situation. You can do this in two easy steps.

STEP 1. Choose your sensors and sensor lead.
The choice of sensors is dependent on the type of item you are trying to protect.
For example: use a FlatSwitch on CamCorders, TV's, speakers or anything with a flat surface. If the item is small and has a flat surface use a MiniDiscSwitch.

STEP 2. Choose your alarm system.
The choice of which alarm system you use will depend on the required level of security, the aesthetics, the type of merchandise you would like to protect and any operational considerations (such as staff, location of protected merchandise etc.)
If you have any questions the PR Systems sales and technical departments will be happy to assist you.

STEP 1. Choose your sensor lead.

FlatSwitch:
Our most popular sensor lead. Ideal for a wide range of goods.

  • Secures any item with a 25mm diameter flat surface.
  • Compatible with all systems.
  • Acts as a visual deterrent and will not mark your product.
  • Removal will trigger an alarm.
  • Sticks on with a low-cost StickyDisc

MiniDiscSwitch:
. . . ideal for mobile phones

  • Same performance as the FlatSwitch.
  • Suitable for use on any small item with a 18mm diameter flat surface.
  • Sticks on with a MiniStickyDisc.

TagSensor:

  • Will secure almost any item.
  • Works well on some curved surfaces e.g. china, musical instruments.
  • It is compatible with all systems.
  • Can be used as a visible deterrent or as concealed protection.
  • Removal will trigger an alarm.
  • You will need a Tag Lead and a supply of non-reuseable Tags.

Plug-In Sensors:
Our selection of plug-in sensors give you added flexibility. They are a discreet and attractive alternative to a stick-on sensor.
Use them again and again.
Removal will trigger an alarm and they are compatible with all systems.

SCARTSwitch

for TV’s, VCR’s, DVD Players, etc.

EyeLoops or Extension Leads
The most simple and effective way to protect small appliances, Glassware, China etc. which have a handle or aperture to pass the lead through.

JackSwitch
for Small Audio, Camcorders.

plugs into the headphone socket and sounds the alarm if removed.

ComputerSwitch
plugs into the printer socket of a computer

PhonoSwitch
for Hi-Fi, DVD Players.

plugs into the phono socket and sounds the alarm if removed.

STEP 2. Choose your alarm system.

All the above sensor leads need to be monitored by an alarm control system

your choice of system will be based on consideration of three issues:

  • Security - tamper resistance, key management
  • Aesthetics - What do you want your customers to see?
  • Operations - How do your staff work?

See our range of Loop Controls, TrimTrak and FastTrak systems which gives you a wide choice.
